About Hydra Energy:
Hydra Energy’s office is based on Annacis Island, Delta, with operations in Prince George. They are accelerating the shift to clean combustion in transportation by converting diesel Class 8 trucks to run partially on hydrogen. The company leverages their unique expertise and business model with its partnerships to provide “Hydrogen as a Service” where the fleet gets the conversion and a refuelling station for no up-front investment and no increase in operating costs. Hydrogen fuel is provided for the same price as diesel.
About the role:
Reporting to the CTO, you will belong to a growing team of smart, engineering professionals with in-depth industry knowledge and proven startup success. We are looking for an innovative Machining & Fabrication Assistant to help build our prototype trucks and service our research and development truck. You’ll be on the leading edge of hydrogen developments in mobility.
What You’ll Do:
Repairs and adjusts automotive and heavy duty equipment
Services and tests equipment, using hand tools and power tools
Works with lathe, milling machine, drill press, band saw, etc.
Cleans shop bays, organizes tools and parts, prepares shop for investor or client site visits
Helps to provide documentation around technical features
Assist with inventory and purchase orders as required
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of Automotive shop experience, and/or fleet maintenance (ideally 5 years)
Must have experience with diesel fuelled light or heavy duty vehicles
Must have fabrication skills, including welding experience
Needs to physically be able to lift up to 60 pounds
Ideally some experience in autocad and solidworks drafting
Compensation:
Full time, 5 days a week, up to $25/hour
